VALHEIM GUIDE: From Naked Viking to First Boss Killer
(AKA: What the heck do we do?)
The Golden Rule of Valheim for Our Group:
║If you see something shiny, pick it up. Everything is useful.
PHASE 1: THE FIRST 10 MINUTES (Survive)

Step 0: Create your character
You'll be greeted with a story intro. Follow Huggins suggestions. That is one of ways to progress in a game.
Goal: Talk to Hugin (black crow)
0. a) Torch is your firs wepon
Activate Torch through Tab and right mouse button or press one on keyboard. You can block and parry incoming attacks with right mouse button as well.
Goal: Defend your self
Step 1: Find a tree branches.
Find a tree branch and pick it up with (E).
Goal: Get 8 Wood.
Step 2: Find a stone.
Find a stone and pick it up with (E).
Goal: Get 6 stone.
Step 3: Make a Stone Axe.
Open Inventory (Tab key).
Look on the right side. Click Stone Axe,- Craft (axe also works as a weapon).
Goal: Now you can chop big trees.
Step 4: Make a Hammer.
Open Inventory (Tab key).
Look on the right side. Click Hammer,- Craft.
Goal: Craft a hammer. Now you can build structures and repair old ones.
Step 4: Build a Workbench
Chop big trees with the Axe. Get more Wood.
Open Inventory (Tab key). Right press on a Hammer Icon. Close inventory (Tab key) and press right mouse button to open building menu.
Select Workbench with a left mouse buttin. Place it on the ground.
VERY IMPORTANT: You MUST build a Roof over the Workbench (2x Wall, 2x Roof Piece)
Goal: Now you can repair your tools for FREE (Walk close to the workbench to access it's menu).
PHASE 2: THE HUNT FOR EIKTHYR (Getting Ready)

Eikthyr is the giant glowing deer boss. He does Lightning damage. He is scared of Fire.
MANDATORY CHECKLIST BEFORE WE FIGHT THE BOSS:

1. Get full leather armor
Kill Boars (pigs) with the Axe. They drop Leather Scraps. Craft: Leather Tunic, Leather Pants, Leather Helmet. Upgraded to the max.

2. Make a Shield
Craft a Wood Shield at the Workbench. This is more important than a sword!

3. Make a bow and arrows
Kill Boars to get Leather Scraps. Look on the ground for Flint (white rock). Craft: Crude Bow and Flint Arrows. (Make at least 40 Arrows)

4. Make a torch
Wood + Resin (from killing Greylings - the little ugly guys). Eikthyr is weak to fire.

5. Eat 3 foods
DO NOT FIGHT HUNGRY. Find Raspberries (bushes), Mushrooms (ground), and Cooked Boar Meat (Cook meat at a Campfire). Eat all 3.

PHASE 3: THE GROUP FIGHT PLAN (NO PANIC)

When you find the Mystical Altar (where Eikthyr spawns) and everyone is ready with their 3 Foods eaten:
The Setup:
Build a Campfire right next to the altar stone. Free fire damage!
Spread Out. Do not stand in a pile. Eikthyr's lightning attack chains between people.
The Fight Roles (Pick One):
The Bow Guys (Archers): You stay FAR AWAY. You shoot arrows at his body. When he runs at you, just hold Right-Click (Block) and walk backwards.
The Axe Guy (The Distraction): You get close. HOLD RIGHT CLICK TO BLOCK. Wait for him to attack. Tank the hit on the shield. Then swing ONCE or TWICE. Then block again. Do not get greedy.
The Torch Guy (The Goat): Hit him with the torch to set him on fire. The fire damage is Huge. Do not stand in the campfire yourself.
Important Fight Words:
"KITING": Means running away while shooting arrows. This is how we win.
"STAMINA": The yellow bar. If it runs out, you can't run or block. Walk slowly to get it back.

If you are on fire: Jump in the nearby river or roll (Double Tap Spacebar).
If you are low health: Just RUN AWAY. Go hide behind a tree. Eat more food. Come back.
If someone dies: ONE PERSON runs in a circle around the altar (Eikthyr will chase them slowly). Everyone else runs to grab the dead person's Gravestone loot.

Pick up Hard Antler from Eikthyr's body.
Go back to Base.
Craft Antler Pickaxe.
Now you can mine rocks and copper.
The game just got bigger.
